Is Kakobuy legit? Check the claim, not the vibe
"Legit" is not one question. It is six: does it really buy, does it really store, does it really charge what it says, does it really inspect, can it really clear customs, and is this page you are reading a trap. Each one has a different answer, and one of them is "no agent can promise that".
Kakobuy actually buys the item
Buying · Verifiable
You paste a Taobao, Weidian or 1688 link, pay the item price plus domestic freight, and the agent places the order with a screenshot of the purchase. If the seller ships, the parcel arrives at the Kakobuy warehouse in China. Every step is visible in the order timeline, and a failed purchase is refunded to your balance.
What it does not prove: A purchase screenshot is not proof of authenticity. It proves the order was placed, nothing more.
The warehouse holds parcels for free, for a while
Storage · Time-limited
Kakobuy advertises a free storage window (typically around three months, sometimes extended in promotions) during which you can consolidate parcels. That is the mechanism that makes "buy now, ship later" work: you collect several sellers’ items, then pay one international freight bill.
What it does not prove: Storage is never infinite. Past the window you pay per day, and abandoned parcels can be disposed of. Check the current number in your own account, not on a blog.
The fee structure is not hiding a percentage
Fees · Published
Kakobuy’s published fee page states a free shopping-agent service: the total is item cost plus international freight plus customs, with domestic freight from seller to warehouse included in the item cost. Value-added services (extra photos, reinforcement, rehearsal) are optional and priced separately.
What it does not prove: "No service fee" does not mean "no spread". Currency conversion and freight margin are where agents earn. That is normal, but it is not zero.
QC photos exist before international shipping
Quality · Partial coverage
Photos are taken at the warehouse and you approve or reject before the parcel leaves China. Rejecting at that moment costs domestic return freight; rejecting after arrival costs the international leg.
What it does not prove: Coverage is not universal and angle counts vary. A thin set is not proof of a bad item, but it is a reason to ask for specific shots.
Customs is handled "safely"
Customs · Cannot be guaranteed
Kakobuy sells duty-inclusive and tax-free line options for some destinations, and publishes notices when rules change (the 2026 EU handling-fee changes were covered on its homepage). Those lines reduce the paperwork you see, not the legal reality of importing.
What it does not prove: No agent can promise a parcel clears. Branded goods can be seized regardless of the line, and declaring low to save tax removes your recourse.
This site is not a scam
This site · Auditable
307 rows, 48 QC sets, a dated snapshot, a working finder, a shipping estimator and a disclosure page. Every outbound link carries a ref parameter you can inspect in the URL bar, and nothing here asks for your password, card or identity.
What it does not prove: We are an affiliate, not an agent. If a parcel goes wrong, Kakobuy answers — not us. Read the disclosure before you assume otherwise.
Verdict
Kakobuy behaves like a normal, large shopping agent: it buys, stores, inspects and ships, and its published fee structure matches what buyers report paying. The risks are the risks of the category — replicas can be seized, batches vary, and freight is priced by volume rather than by expectation.
What is not legit is the surrounding content layer: undated coupon lists, "10,000 finds" pages full of dead links, and spreadsheet sites that claim QC coverage they do not have. Judge those on evidence, not on the word "legit".
